Art Consulting and Design Project Management for large hospitality public area artwork collection. Led the project alongside team members from concept, design development, shop drawings through client presentations, refinement, fabrication coordination, and installation.
These life-sized calf sculptures, Breaching and Diving, capture brief moments of the humpback whale’s incredible migratory journey—breaching, when the whale leaps from the water, and diving, as it plunges beneath the surface. Humpback calves, typically 12-15 feet long at birth, travel alongside their mothers. Breaching is composed of 785 translucent acrylic rods, while Diving is composed of 893, bringing these majestic creatures to life.
Additional artwork from the collection shown as well including surfboard sculptures made of real used vintage surfboards to celebrate San Diego’s surf legacy and its connection to surf cultures around the world. The piece features vintage surfboards from iconic shapers, along with stickers from both local and national surf brands like Sun Diego Boardshop, Long Ryders Surf Wax, Birds Surf Shed, Volcom, Ron Jon, Hurley, Surf Ride, and Billabong.
